  • 1. Start From Your World

You grew up online, so pieces of your identity live there too. Some are visible, others are hidden, but together they form a detailed picture of who you are.

    Visible Clues

    Profile pictures

    Usernames and gamertags

    TikTok videos and Instagram Stories

    Comments, likes, and public posts

    Invisible Clues

    Posting times

    Location history

    Device information

Biometric data from filters (face shape, voice, gestures)

School platform data (name, homework, files, emails, photos)

Even “temporary” content isn’t truly temporary. Screenshots, screen recordings, and platform archives can preserve it forever.

All these pieces create your digital shadow — a version of you that others can find, even if you didn’t mean to build it.

  • 2. Why Your Data Matters More Than You Think

Your data has value. That’s why so many people — platforms, companies, AI systems, and scammers — want it.

Who Wants Your Data and Why

Platforms use it to keep you scrolling.

Companies use it to influence what you buy.

AI systems use it to learn from your behavior.

Scammers use it to manipulate or exploit you.

    Common Risks for Young People

Identity cloning (fake profiles using your photos)

Account takeovers through weak or shared passwords

Targeted scams based on personal details

Emotional manipulation through algorithms or strangers

Privacy isn’t only about today — it protects your future self. A post you lose control of can resurface when you apply for jobs, scholarships, or collaborations.

The consequences aren’t just embarrassing. They can affect your reputation, emotional safety, and independence.

  • 3.The Golden Mindset for Digital Privacy

You don’t need advanced tech skills to be safer online. You just need the right mindset — simple habits that make a big difference.

    Passwords are like toothbrushes

    You don’t share them.
    You replace them regularly.
    Each person has their own.
Your password protects your identity, conversations, and memories.

Privacy settings are like door locks

You decide who enters your space.
If you don’t set the locks, the internet leaves the door wide open.

Free apps are like vending machines

They don’t take money — they take access.
Camera, mic, contacts, location, behavior… that’s the real price.

Oversharing is like putting your diary on a billboard

It might feel exciting for a moment, but it was never meant for everyone.

Your intuition is your built‑in alarm

If something feels off, rushed, dramatic, or too flattering, trust that feeling.
    Awareness beats panic every time.

  • 4. Story Moment — The DM That Looked Like a Chance

Lara gets a message at 11 PM:

“URGENT! Your profile was selected for a collaboration. Send a selfie and the code you just received.”

It felt exciting. It felt important. It felt fast.

But it was a trap covered in glitter.

The profile had almost no followers.
    The message was copy‑paste.
    The urgency was fake.
The “code” was actually a password reset link.

If Lara had sent it, the scammer could have taken over her account, cloned her identity, and messaged her friends pretending to be her.

    She stopped and thought:

“I wouldn’t give my face or my house keys to a stranger on the street. So why here?”

She didn’t need rescuing — she used her digital common sense.

Lesson: Scams don’t look like monsters anymore. They look like opportunities, compliments, panic buttons, or shortcuts. Your shield is noticing them before reacting.

  • 5. Challenge Activity — Privacy Guardian Quest

This isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about doing something consciously.

    Your mission:

Pick one app you use daily (Instagram, TikTok, Discord, a game, or an AI filter tool).

Open its permissions and privacy panel.

Ask: “Does this app need full access to my face, location, or contacts to do what I actually want?”

    Change one thing:

remove a permission it doesn’t need, or

upgrade your password to a stronger one, or

limit who can see your posts.

That’s enough to earn your first badge, because cybersecurity starts with ownership, not perfection.

Badge levels you unlock by action:

    🥉 Privacy Rookie → 1 conscious change

    🥈 Privacy Aware → 2 changes

🥇 Privacy Guardian Level 1 → 3+ changes + searching your own username online to check your footprint

Your reward is not a sticker. It’s control! Protect your digital footprint!

Module 5 is now transformed into clear, engaging, second‑person course content that matches the tone, structure, and learner‑friendly style of your previous modules. It keeps your metaphors, your youth‑centered voice, and your layered explanations — but reshapes everything into a smooth, digital‑course flow.
